HM Queen Elizabeth II

Along with the rest of the country, we are paying our respects to the remarkable life and service given by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Please note that the flag will be flown as follows, in line with national protocols:

  • Friday 9th September: flown at half-mast
  • Saturday 10th September at 1pm: raised to full-mast to celebrate the momnent when the ascension of King Charles III is formally proclaimed.
  • Sunday 11th September from 1pm onwards,  until after the funeral: flown at half-mast.

 We have opened a Book of Condolence in St Mark's for anyone who wishes to sign it. The Church is open from 9am - 5pm daily for those who wish to do so.

Sunday 11th September

Our normal 10am service will be adjusted slightly, with an amendment to the Liturgy and the National Anthem will be sung.

Special Service Of Remembrance

We will be holding a service of remembrance for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The date and time will be announced once confirmed.

A prayer on the death of Her Majesty The Queen


Gracious God,
we give thanks
for the life of your servant Queen Elizabeth,
for her faith and her dedication to duty.
Bless our nation as we mourn her death
and may her example continue to inspire us;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
